Daniela trained at The College of Art and Design in her home city of Prague, later continuing her studies in Jewellery Design at Richmond College of Art in London, where after graduation in 2003 she became an artist in residence.
Whilst at Richmond her designs started to gain a reputation for innovation & originality in the world of contemporary jewellery, winning awards from The Goldsmiths’ Craft and Design Council and The Victoria & Albert Museum.
Daniela’s innovative self-developed coiling and wire forming techniques fuse with traditional skills to create distinctive and beautiful pieces, with emphasis placed on the quality of the craftsmanship and originality of design.
Her jewellery, all carefully handcrafted in precious metals, explores the properties of shapes and materials, such as the tension and elasticity of the spiral, to create a collection of elegance and timeless appeal. The pieces have a strong three-dimensional feel and often exploit movement and flexibility to dramatic effect.
Since setting up her own studio in 2004, Daniela has exhibited at high profile events including ‘The Goldsmiths’ Fair’, ‘Art in Action’, ‘Origin’ at Somerset House, ‘Dazzle’ and ‘Inhorgenta’ Munich, as well as leading UK galleries such as the Royal Academy of Arts shop in Piccadilly. Her work has won further prestigious design awards and she is now becoming regarded as one of the UK’s leading contemporary jewellers.
