Stefania Lucchetta

Stefania Lucchetta was born and lives in Bassano del Grappa (Vicenza area), Italy.

She holds degrees from Ca’ Foscari University in Venice (1999, BA with honors in Literature and Art History) and Scuola Italiana Design of Padua (2004, Master degree in Industrial Design), besides some modules previously taken at the Venice College of Fine Arts.

Already in 2000 – after acquiring a good knowledge of stampato jewellery, lost-wax casting, engraving and laser cut, and training in goldsmith art within her family business, she started focusing on 3D software and rapid prototyping machines. In 2002, exploring innovative techniques parallel to her industrial design collections, she launched her limited edition jewels using materials such as polyamide, bio-compatible resins, stellite and titanium, shown in several international exhibitions.

Since 2005 she is a member of ADI (Italian Association of Industrial Design).

In 2007 she set up her own studio Stefania Lucchetta srl.

Invited to give lectures at Milan Politecnico, thanks to her research she has deserved  wide media coverage both from specialized and lifestyle press. Her works have been featured in magazines like Ottagono, Icon, Wallpaper, Vogue Gioiello, Abitare, Domus, AD, D-La Repubblica delle Donne, Gioia, Flair and Panorama.

In November 2010 her work was ranked by leading magazine Wallpaper among the “Top 20 reasons to be in Italy”.

My jewels, made of biocompatible resin, polyamide, titanium or stellite, are the result of a long and deep research on shapes, materials and new techniques. Since the beginning, in 1999, my goal was to overcome the boundaries imposed by traditional materials and production techniques. My aim was to move forward, beyond what was already achievable, pushing modern technologies to their limits and exploring their full potential, to find new possibilities of expression.
